Plagiarism Detection in Arabic Text
The AraPlagDet is a competition held for bot intrinsic and extrinsic plagiarism detection.

The suspicious document should be compared to other documents.”
RDI WAS ANNOUNCED THE WINNER OF THIS COMPETITION
1st, 2nd, and 3rd PLACE WINNER
RDI was announced the winner of the AraPlagDet Competition 2015. RDI’s Performance was remarkable as we won the first three places in the competition with a plagiarism Detection score of 80% which is 20% higher than the baseline and 18% higher than the second-best competing system.
We developed RDI’s plagiarism detection system due to the absence of any reliable system that works in the Arabic language.
We found a good opportunity in this competition to invest our Arabic language knowledge in developing our own system and monitor its performance against other teams with the presence of a unified test corpus and benchmark.
Our system is advanced in the field of Arabic plagiarism detection as it identifies a wide spectrum of plagiarism techniques starting from simple copy-paste to word shuffling and also complete sentence rephrasing.
This is done through three basic modules, (1) Candidate source documents retrieval module, (2) Alignment module and (3) Filtering module.
